Part of biscuit basin, just north of old faithful, is closed after a hydrothermal explosion tuesday morning, according to a news release from yellowstone national park.

The yellowstone volcano observatory (yvo) reported that at around 1000 on 23 july a small hydrothermal explosion occurred in yellowstoneโ€™s biscuit basin thermal area, located about 3.5 km nw of old faithful.
